The 36th annual Isthmus Paddle & Portage returns to downtown Madison Saturday, July 18th, 2015.
Isthmus is proud to host over 900 participants from across the country! Competitors of all strokes of life brave the lakes and set to the streets — professional racers, amateur paddlers, parents, children and everyone in between!
The race begins at James Madison Park with a 1.5-mile paddle on Lake Mendota, followed by a 1-mile portage past the Capitol and Dane County Farmers' Market, before heading to the final 1.5-mile paddle across Lake Monona and the finish line at Olin Park. Racers and spectators are invited to enjoy live music, delicious food, refreshing craft brews and the 2015 Paddle & Portage awards ceremony at Olin Park for the post race party!
Paddlers are invited to dress up and deck out for our annual Paddle & Portage costume contest! "Like" our Facebook page for prize updates and announcements as race day approaches!
